MI: You’ve built two very different ventures, a national museum project and a tech-driven product. What ties them together in terms of your mission or mindset as an entrepreneur?

Mark Bullock: Honestly, they’re not connected in content, but what ties them together is my passion to create and bring innovation into the world. That’s what drives me, no matter the industry.
MI: Let’s start with the USA Fire Museum. What drew you to this project, and what impact are you hoping it will have on future generations?
MB: I have six daughters, and I want to leave them a legacy. I also want to leave something meaningful for my community; to show them they can achieve anything they set their minds to. I truly believe this idea was given to me by God. I’ve had many visions, inventions, and concepts over the years.
Whenever I start a project, I first look at the resources I have. The biggest challenge is always funding. Coming from the community I do, raising money isn’t easy. People talk about “bootstrapping,” and you really have to get creative, figure out ways to leverage what you’ve got. For me, it’s never about whether I have the money. It’s about the process and the resources. If you can imagine something, you can figure out a way to make it real. You just have to stay flexible and persistent.
MI: Looking ahead, how do you see these projects evolving, and what’s next on your entrepreneurial radar?
MB: I’ve got a ton of ideas brewing. Right now, I’m also building a podcast center inside a mall, a space where I can produce short-form digital content. These days, content is everything. If you can market yourself well online, you’ve got the edge.
I believe content is king, and I plan to be the king of content. That’s what people look at now when deciding if someone’s successful. Visibility, storytelling, branding, it all matters.

EXPERIENCE WITH THE PLAN WRITERS
M.I.: What made you decide to bring in The Plan Writers, and how did that shape your approach to planning and launching?
MB: They helped me structure my ideas in a really clear, strategic way so I could reach the right audience. It’s been a game-changer. Now I don’t have to get bogged down in structure—I can focus on dreaming and creating. As a visionary, planning isn’t always where I want to spend my energy.
M.I.: Looking back on your experience working with The Plan Writers, what stood out to you most? Would you recommend them to other entrepreneurs?
MB: Absolutely. Honestly, I think it’s one of the first steps every entrepreneur should take. Even the initial consultation was so helpful; it helped me articulate my vision more clearly.
Sometimes, you have a great idea, but it’s still fuzzy. Working with someone experienced, someone who knows how to structure and refine your thoughts, can really sharpen the whole picture. Just talking it out with The Plan Writers made everything click into place.
The Plan Writers will always be my first step in business. I’ve worked with them on three different ventures, and everything’s been solid. With projects like Focix, USA Fire Museum, and Streetball Network, they’ve helped lay a foundation I can build on.
